TEHRAN Head of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said yesterday that we should consider the epic of the 20 years of the Islamic Revolution as a miracle of Islam and the Qoran as well as the unique accomplishment of the entire history of Iran. He made the statement on Sunday at the Shrine of Imam Khomeini when reviewing the events of the 20 years of the Islamic Revolution. Rafsanjani delivered the speech on the first day of the Ten Day Dawn celebrations and anniversary of the arrival of the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran late Imam Khomeini to Iran. Rafsanjani said with this historical miracle the people of Iran demonstrated that religion at this time is the best way for the administration of the country.

Alluding to the years of oppression and international sanctions against the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani said today the U.S. which was hostile to the Islamic Revolution begs for talks. He was referring to Clinton's Eid ul-Fitr message. Head of the Expediency Council stressed that we should undertake more studies about the policies and prophetic guidelines of the late Imam Khomeini so that we can understand what has happened to Iran and how proudly we have put those years behind.

He said Imam Khomeini was the pivot and hero of this movement, pointing out that the late Imam Khomeini should be looked as a divine grace. Referring to the plots of the U.S. and Britain in the early days of the Islamic Revolution, Rafsanjani stressed that only a selfless man inspired by Islamic laws and ethics such as the late Imam Khomeini could create such an enormous movement, adding that today the Leader of the Islamic Revolution endeavors to continue the blessed path of the Founder of the Islamic Republic.
